As we are headed into spring, I decided to share some of my favorite green drinks to implement into your diet. I am not a dietician or nutritionist, but I used healthy smoothies to help lose weight before my wedding and had success. Now that I am married, I use them to balance out my diet especially after a weekend of heavy indulgence (I'm looking at you margaritas and queso). I usually drink these for dinners. They are quick, painless, and have easy clean up.

Benefits I have found using healthy smoothies:

Higher metabolism
Less bloating
Clearer, less oily skin
Stronger and faster growth of nails & hair
Stronger immune system
Weight loss

Important tips when using healthy smoothies/shakes:

Drink plenty of water
Make sure you have healthy snacks throughout the day
Balance the amount of fruits to vegetables equally, watch your sugar intake
To lose weight, replace a meal. Adding a green shake is great but it still has caloric value.
Invest in a great blender, I use the NutriBullet. There are a lot of different choices. Research before purchasing.
To lose weight use water in your shake, to maintain use yogurt or almond milk.
Freeze your fruit/veggies to make them last longer
Implement exercise into your weight loss plan

For your sweet tooth:

1/3 cup greens (spinach/kale)
1 handful blueberries
4-6 medium strawberries
1/8 cup raspberries
1 tablespoon coconut shavings
Fill to max line with filtered water (NutriBullet)
*add oatmeal, almonds, flax seed, 1/2 banana starting out to help you feel fuller

For your citrus craving: 

1/3 cup greens 
1/2 medium orange peeled
1/2 cup carrots
1/4 cup blackberries
Fill to max line with filtered water (NutriBullet)
*add oatmeal, almonds, flax seed, or 1/2 banana starting out to help you feel fuller

For an advanced green drinker (bitter taste): 

1/3 cup greens
1/4 cup cucumber slices
1/3 of a pear
1/2 of a medium banana
Fill to max line with filtered water (NutriBullet)
*add oatmeal, almonds, flax seed, or 1/2 banana starting out to help you feel fuller

I hope these recipes and tips provided some clarity on healthy smoothies. As you start to drink more shakes/smoothies you can mix and match fruits and vegetables to your liking. For example, I am never buying papaya again. Seriously. So gross.
