I love wedding season! There's so many festivities, celebrations, and laughter. Last year one of my best friends and I were in each other's weddings as bridesmaids, so suffice it to say I have seen my fair share of wedding fashion do's and don'ts.There are really 3 rules to follow when picking out the perfect wedding guest outfit.

1. Do not wear white
One of  my biggest pet peeves of wedding guest fashion is when I see people wearing white in any form. I cannot stand when someone wears white in a pattern, stripes, a shawl, blazer, etc. Just please don't do it! I am a firm believer in white being reserved exclusively for the bride. It's her day!

2. Keep modesty in mind
Be mindful that family and elderly relatives will be in attendance. I would caution against wearing anything that shows too much cleavage or is extremely form fitting. No guest wants to see an immodestly dressed guest and wonder who invited them (lol!). Generally I do not wear anything that is too formfitting or cleavage baring, classic looks are always the way to go.

3. Be comfortable and confident
One time I made the mistake of wearing a sequin fitted dress to a friend's wedding. While the dress was super flattering, by the end of the night my ribs were screaming against the boning in the corset of the dress. Wear something that will allow you to dance and enjoy yourself! Let your outfit let you have that second piece of wedding cake.

This soft green Francesca's dress is the perfect choice for a wedding outfit. It is stylish, modest, a fun color, and will allow you to dance all night long with it's loose fit. Pair it with statement earrings and a strappy heel and girlfriend you are good to go!

What are your rules for wedding outfit choices?
