Fall Work Wardrobe with Banana Republic

Blouse: Banana Republic c/o | Pants: Banana Republic c\o | Earrings

Kicking off Monday strong with this fall inspired work day outfit! I typically stick to work pants and blouse combos when choosing outfits for work, the easier the better! When it comes to getting up for work, its a struggle-I've never been a morning person (ask my mom who had to struggle to get me up when I was younger). I vaguely remember reading something about Steve Jobs and how he only wore jeans and a black t-shirt every single day, which meant he saved time and his mentality for more important tasks. Not saying I'm Steve Jobs but I definitely stick to the same type of work pants plus a blouse and I'm out the door.

What I especially love about this look is the color! I had never tried on dark green pants for work, to me it seemed like a limiting number-that I could only wear certain colored tops with it. Once I tried these on though I was sold! I paired it with creams and reds to seamlessly pull a fall palette together. These trousers are more wide legged and feature a straight leg silhouette. They are pretty fitted through the waist and hip so if you're curvier these might not work for your body type.  The collection is the Avery at Banana Republic. They fit true to size. For all my short readers, these come in short sizes! I have such a hard time finding pants sometimes because I'm 5'1'' and it's such a blessing when brands carry the shorter length sizes.

A key rule that I keep in mind when purchasing blouses is if I can transition it to weekend wear. I hate having items in my closet that are strictly work or strictly play. I try to utilize as much wear as I can from every item that I have. This blouse certainly fits the bill! I can see myself wearing it under a moto jacket or a peacoat to wear to dinner or an after hour work event. The fabric is light and perfect for layering. One major con for me is the sleeve length, I love the ruffle detail but the sleeves were much too long for me.

What are your must have items in your work wardrobe?
