Time - Lea Carmen

It seemed fitting to write about what I have been up to these last two months. Well I'll tell you, its been a whole lot of nothing. Let me explain! Through sickness, a quarter of a century crisis, and many heart felt talks with family and friends I took time to just be. You'll remember in this post that I wrote about the importance of doing what truly makes you happy and these last 2 months I did.

Shortly after the madness of Black Friday shopping and posting sale after sale, I experienced a serious burnout. With everything that happened outside of the fashion world, it felt extremely frivolous to be worried about the next trend or "it girl" item. So I took a break and spent time with family and enjoyed Christmas.

I had every intention to hit it hard after the new year, but if you follow me on Facebook you know that I rang in 2017 with the flu. Not only was I out for the count for a week and a half, but the virus triggered my psororis. This is a genetic disease that causes your skin to produce red-like itchy spots that are truly miserable-I even got it on my face. I'd like to say that I was strong enough to not let vanity get me down but I got super self conscious. I didn't want to go out or take photos or anything; not to mention I had gained a couple of holiday pounds. After a couple of days of being angry, I decided to take this time (you basically have to wait out the flare up of psorisis) to do something positive.

I'm happy to say that my psorisis is gone now and I've shed the pounds from one too many holiday treats. Going to the gym, making healthy dinners, and even simpler things like reading books and taking bubble baths really helped rejuvinate and refresh me mentally and physically. All of this to say how very important it is to take time to take care of yourself. You may have children, a demanding job, or going through a tough time. Say no to what isn't a priority (at the moment) and take care of yourself.

I want to say thank you for your patience and continued support. It means the world to me to have friends and family reach out to check in with me.
